SCSD Air Quality Protocols

SCSD has protocols in place to prioritize student and staff safety, as well as ensure learning continues when air quality conditions shift. Our priority is to maintain safe in-person learning for students.

You can find the most current SCSD Air Quality Protocols on our website. Consistent with the County Office of Education and the San Mateo County Health Department, SCSD uses Air Now and Bay Area Air Quality Management District Index to monitor climate conditions.  Click on the title link to learn more.

Message from Our Principal, Theresa Fox

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!  At Mariposa, the Monarch butterfly is not only our mascot but also a symbol of this stage of transition and growth for upper elementary students. Everything we do at Mariposa is intentionally designed to help students grow in their independence, ownership, and social-emotional wellbeing. We want Mariposa to be students' home away from home: a place where they can be themselves, feel belonging, and also feel challenged to be their best selves in their academic learning as well as their relationships with others. Mariposa should also be a place of community for our families, too, and we're excited to partner with you in the year ahead. Looking forward to our best year yet!
