We had a beautiful Thanksgiving Feast event here in the Learning Commons today, which was fully decorated with student arts and crafts. It included 5th graders leading the flag salute, a solo singing performance, plays, skits, stories, and a read-aloud. Ms. Scannell led the children interpreting a patriotic song using American Sign Language, which was inspiring, as was the Leaf Ceremony– ask your students to tell you what they wrote on their leaves and fixed to the Tree of Thanksgiving.
I’m grateful for our teachers who took time to facilitate this event in their classrooms and today in the Learning Commons, and for our students who rose to the occasion.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, our parent volunteers supported this event by setting up before school began, supplying plates and utensils, covering tables, preparing buffet lines, and helping serve the feast. At the end, they stayed behind to clean up. We definitely could not pull something like this off, without our parent volunteers! We are grateful for you! Thanks especially to leads Hazel Stabinsky, Millie Lee, Lindsay Byrnes, and Amy Nguyen.
Best wishes to all,
