  • I have been a teacher since 1999 . . . that’s a long time! I have taught all over the country: Massachusetts, Colorado, Washington DC, and of course, California! I’ve taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. The focus on California history really makes 4th grade unique, and so much fun! I am also super excited to be working in partnership with my wonderful friend, Janelle Brown.
  • I love to think back on my life before children and remember all the things I used to do. I lived in Vail, Colorado for 8 years, and those years were full of skiing, biking, hiking, rafting, and living life to the fullest. When I lived in DC, I took full advantage of all the free museums and embraced all there was to learn about American history and government. While right now I don’t feel like I have a second to myself, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. My children are one and three, and that says it all. We also have a black lab named Lucky. My house is filled with love, laughter and chaos.

  • I have been teaching for 4 years, and I look forward to starting Year 5 this year with Mariposa at Heather. Go Monarchs! I am also looking forward to the opportunity to team teach. Alison Hainline is not just my teaching partner, she is my good friend. We are thrilled to work together and create an incredible learning environment! I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. One of the many good things about having grown up in Grand Bay is that I have had great exposure to so many of the Gold Rush beginnings. Teaching about Sutter’s Mill when I have actually been there makes it much more meaningful for both me and the students!
  • I enjoy shopping, exercising, playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Recently I have started to garden, and I must say I am pretty impressed with my roses. Cooking has been a fun new hobby that I find myself enjoying more and more. It is hard not to become a foodie living in San Francisco, and it was a natural next step to want to recreate some of the dishes I’ve enjoyed at the many amazing restaurants in the city. There is never a dull moment!

  • I’ve been a teacher for 19 years, and 16 have been in San Carlos. I was a Title 1 K-8 Teacher in San Diego (I taught on a bus), and I worked as a teacher in Juvenile Hall (ages 8-18) for the San Diego County of Education. I’ve been a 2nd and a 3rd grade teacher at Brittan Acres for the last 16 years.
  • I love spending time with my family. Both my children play multiple sports, so I spend most weekends watching a sporting event. I really love being active and exercising, and try to get outside as much as I can. I love writing, and hope to get published one day!
